I am in the process of getting unlocking his Dragon of Dojima stuff and messing with Komaki and the Arena. Leveling up Kiryu is actually fun in this game since there are a lot of ways you can do this easily. Yakuza 0 actually helped Nishiki’s case by a bunch. Because a lot of his conditions were only implied throughout the original game. I also enjoy the flash back sequences involving Nishiki, making him a far more reasonable villain, since the player can now see where he is coming from. It is advisable to be a bit careful around boss characters because depending on the difficulty, a lot of characters (especially Majima or Baba for example, the latter whom seems to favor the use of moves that are related to the “Beast” style) do not flinch after getting hit, making you susceptible to their attacks instead. Anyone know what the conditions are to allow you to successfully grab and attack bosses? At this point, however, I’m not even sure how I’m supposed to land any type of grab moves on him, limiting some heat action options. I prefer fighting him in Rush style to dodge and hit him in the back to build meter, and then use that meter in various heat attacks for maximum damage. At least fighting Majima has come very natural to me now, especially with everything else maxed out. Every other skill tree has been maxed out too, so my only growth now will be Dragon style via Komaki training/arena grinding and Majima Everywhere. Even with a bit over half the Dragon skill tree complete, it still feels quite weak compared to using the other styles. Arena grinding is pretty zzz so I don’t think I’ll unlock everything by the time I finish the game. Majima Everywhere rank is SS but I still have a lot of the Dragon skill tree left to complete. I should finish the game by sometime tomorrow. Really glad they fleshed out his character more in this game. Apparently in the original game, you don’t find out any of his motivations until the very end, so he just seems like a completely unlikable asshole for no reason the entire game. Makes perfect sense considering how much of a bro he was in Yakuza 0 it would make for bad development for him to heel turn without much of an explanation. The flashback scenes of Nishiki were added in to flesh out his villain role more in Kiwami. The dual wielding red coat guy on the rooftop Nishiki 's sister Yuko and the doctor subplot - Was that in the regular Yakuza 1 game?Īlso, I wished they had touched on it a bit more. It seems more difficult to do grab moves on them.

Does anyone feel the everyday thugs are maybe 15-20 percent harder/less stupid than Y0?
